With some of the highest ski resorts in Europe the Grandvalira region has a fantastic snow record. From November until May the slopes accessible from Encamp are virtually guaranteed snow cover, thanks to these high altitudes and the mostly North facing ski areas. And just in case the snow begins to deteriorate, the Southerly latitude of Grandvalira means it receives a lot of sunshine, the region has an advanced snow making system. Thanks to recent investment in this system artificial snow can be produced automatically and can reach most of the slopes in the ski area. |
