La Massana Ski Resort Information
In Northwest Andorra the town of La Massana is the hub of activity in the area. It has excellent facilities, fantastic accommodation, and its restaurants are a gastronomic delight. However the town centre isn't just home to these top quality services, it also has access to some amazing snow sports terrain. The lifts from La Massana take you up to the Vallnord ski area, so from the town centre you can explore the 63km of slopes in the Arinsal and Pal ski resorts, as well as the 30km of slopes in the Arcalis resort. Ranging from 1,550m to 2,560m these slopes are varied in difficulty and perfect for mixed ability groups. And if you're looking for a family sports destination then La Massana is ideal as the Vallnord area has lifts specially adapted for children, areas reserved for you and your family to ensure you get to the bottom of slopes safely, ski schools to teach even the youngest of kids, and loads of other non-skiing or snowboarding activities.
La Massana isn't only the name of the town it's also the name of the parish area which covers 65km2, with many villages within it, glacial lakes, mountains, streams, and rivers. And during winter this landscape is transformed into a huge snowy playground where you'll find all sorts of winter sports and activities which all the family will enjoy. For the most adventurous there's ice diving, paragliding, and speed skiing. If you want to explore at speed you can hire snowmobiles, go dog sledding, or enjoy various toboggan-style sports. Kids can try snow bike riding on a special circuit, and everyone can enjoy the spectacular views from one of the helicopter tours. For après ski activities La Massana has a packed events programme throughout the year but the town mainly has a relaxed evening atmosphere. Arinsal however has a very lively après ski scene so if you want to party there are pubs and clubs nearby.
