Receiving an excellent amount of snow every year the area around La Massana is a great snow sports destination. Most of the slopes in the Vallnord ski area are above 2,000m in altitude, and the highest go up to 2,560m, so it's generally snow-sure. And the teams within each resort meticulously prepare the snow before the start of the season, and continue throughout the season from November until April, so you can be sure you'll find great piste surfaces. Should the natural snow need a top up the Pal and Arinsal resorts can enhance the snow with 296 artificial snow cannons and the Arcalis resort can cover 50% of its slopes with its 89 snow guns. |
