When visiting Ehrwald for a winter sports holiday you needn't worry about lack of snow on the slopes as every year the area receives around 250cm of snowfall, and with a ski area up on the Zugspitz Glacier between 2,000m and 2,650m in altitude there's guaranteed snow from December until spring. Although in the Ehrwald Alm and Wetterstein ski areas the snow isn't guaranteed like on the glacier there are excellent artificial snow making machines which can cover many of the slopes with fresh snow so you should always have a good choice of snow-sure slopes.
