On the "Sun Terrace of Tyrol" Fiss holds a fantastic position and benefits from more hours of sunshine a year than any other area in Austria. And as this sun-drenched location is in the middle of high mountain ranges the village and ski area are incredibly well protected from the wind and elements. The resulting Mediterranean-style climate mixes with the high altitude slopes to create the perfect winter sports environment, with cold temperatures and loads of snow under the lovely winter sun from the start of December until April.
