Gaschurn with Snowrental

Found in one of Austria's prettiest areas, Gaschurn is a charming mountain town with excellent winter sports facilities and an authentic Alpine character. Part of the community of Vorarlberg the traditional town of Gaschurn attracts tourists from around the world in both winter and summer because of the fantastic natural landscape which surrounds it. When snow arrives in Gaschurn it becomes a particularly attractive destination thanks to its position on the doorstep of the huge Montafon ski area. Covering a large area this ski domain extends from Bludenz up to the Silvretta glaciers and on to the Piz Buin mountain at 3,312m, the highest peak in Vorarlberg.
From Gaschurn at 1,000m in altitude you can access the vast Montafon ski area and explore its 246km of marked slopes, 100km of cross-country ski trails, and 290km of hiking routes. This is one of the most extensive and varied mountain sports regions in the Alps, and also one of the most snow-sure. There are timed runs, including carving slopes, varied freeride terrain, and loads of deep-snow areas, as well as facilities for many other winter sports: the NovaPark is perfect for freestylers of all levels with mixed features and a 120m half-pipe, there are loads of tobogganing runs across the area including some floodlit ones, several ice rinks, and through the ski rental shops you can hire fun equipment like skifox, snow cycle, skwal, snow scooter, snowblade, Captain Avalanche, and airboard. From the Tourist Office in Gaschurn you can also hire equipment to try the new sport of Geocaching, a type of GPS-based treasure hunt.
Also in Gaschurn you'll find the first Austrian Museum of Tourism, this makes a good off-snow activity for those interested in culture. This thriving town also has many après ski activities for visitors to enjoy, there are many good quality restaurants serving a variety of cuisines, lively bars with bands and DJs, and a few late night clubs. In Gaschurn you'll be spoiled for choice with the number of things to do and great facilities.
