Kirchberg claims to be absolutely snow-sure with amazing natural snowfall and fantastic artificial snow making capabilities. Consistently receiving heavy snowfalls every year since records began in 1958, the valley receives at least 2.5 metres of natural snow a year and an immense 8 metres lands on the mountains. And the area has 3,440 snow making machines which can provide snow cover on over 765km of the slopes. Skiing has been a favourite winter activity in the Kitzbüheler Alpen for the past century, and in the last 20 years the snow cover has been assisted by snow making machines. This experience has allowed the team at the resort to perfect their snow making capabilities.
