Winters in Kitzbühel mountains are long, the winter seasons normally run from October right through until April, and have a high level of precipitation. Masses of humid air, which originate above the North Sea, form huge could banks north of the Alps and supply Kitzbühel with heavy snowfalls and loads of fresh snow throughout the winter. This snow is excellently maintained and the resort has great snow guns which keep the snow in top condition.
