In the heart of Canada's Rocky Mountains, Banff is surrounded by some of the most spectacular scenery. Linking the three ski resorts of Lake Louise, Sunshine Village, and Mount Norquay, from the town of Banff you can explore over 125 miles of marked slopes. Covering a huge 7,558 acres these ski resorts have all kinds of snow sports for every level of snow enthusiast.
With one interchangeable lift ticket you can explore the three ski resorts, and use shuttle services between resorts and hotels. Each resort has its own individual character but all are great for novices up to experts. There are loads of gentle slopes to take your first ski or board trips down, with great ski schools helping novices to improve as quickly as possible. There's a variety of terrain, and great red and black runs, which will challenge and entertain intermediate and expert skiers and snowboarders.
Freestylers will be spoilt for choice with terrain parks in each of the resorts: Sunshine Village has an awesome park with over 20 features, Mount Norquay has an advanced snowpark with night freestyling from January to March, and the Showtime terrain park in Lake Louise has a massive 47 features.
For a break from downhill skiing and boarding you can choose from a huge range of activities. On the snow you can go Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, dog sledding, and take snowmobile tours. On the ice you can skate or fish - or try diving under it. Fun for all the family can be found on the toboggan runs around the resorts, and the horse-drawn sleigh rides are a classic way to see the magical landscapes.
Back in Banff you'll find loads of things do to. Museums, art galleries, and music, theatre, and dance performances provide cultural activities that everyone can enjoy off the slopes. And the town is well known for its diverse nightlife, there are top quality restaurants, bars with live music, pool and traditional pub games, and clubs where you can dance the night away.
