Three distinctly different mountain ranges allow visitors to enjoy winter sports at just an hour's drive away:- The Chartreuse is a massif with several charming little village resorts (St. Pierre en Chartreuse).- The Vercors is a superb plateau with traditional architecture. Its infrastructures have boosted tourist development for many years now (Villard-de-Lans).- Belledonne, which dominates the Isère valley, offers more active ski activities (not to mention a superb view of Grenoble) thanks to Chamrousse and Sept Laux.
