I am a huge fan of the Head Supershape range but the Magnum is perhaps my least favorite. It lacks the urgency of the other models, the fineness in shaping the of an arc. The Magnum is designed to be a slightly over-sized version of the Supershape- a bit like an over-sized tennis racquet getting a further over-sizing. I guess, it is a bit like a Big Mac- not that I would ever eat one of the wretched things- but does it, or do you, really gain much from the "super-sizing". I think more often than not the answer is going to be less than positive- unless high cholestrol and an early finish are your aims.
So with the Magnum it does turn in very nicely, and it does respond quite well on softer piste conditions but when you wind up the speed a little or the piste gets somewhat firmer then things tend to go a little Michael Moore, when what you really need is a firm wash-board core to hold things together.
Perhaps a very good ski for the aspiring intermediate and advanced skiers- good advanced skiers and experts should go for the exceptional iSupershape Speed or chip models.
