Heaps of praise has been bestowed upon this ski from many a tester this season. A Freeride addict friend who would have sworn on his mother’‘s grave never to buy Salomon has shown remorse for his lack of foresight. The Sandstorm heads up the X-Wing range, they are big, bruising but light and stable super-cruisers. The thing with these mammoths is their side-cut, it is huge, very much in the way that the original Seth Pistols had a huge shape and so became versatile even for such large and wide skis, these rascals are coming in at 130/96/124, if you’‘re girlfriend measured that (in relative terms of course) you’‘d be running either for cover or medication! What surprised people who had tested this ski was the shear use-ability of them, they couldn’‘t get over how a 187cm ski could be turned so easily yet still provide all the stability necessary for hammering down the crude at 40-50mph. The overall verdict was “awesome dude!”
