Receiving an average of eight metres of snow every year, Avoriaz has a fantastic snow record. And sitting at 1,800m Avoriaz has the cold temperatures to preserve this snow well. Most slopes in the area are north facing and retain great snow conditions throughout the winter season. The designers at Avoriaz have used the natural shape of the landscape to design a real winter wonderland, and they have an efficient snow making system which keeps slope surfaces perfect from the start of the season in December right the way through to the end of April. |
