Through the linking of Barèges with its neighbour La Mongie the ski area of the Domaine du Tourmalet was formed. This ski domain has over 100km of pistes which are varied in level and make a great ski area for all abilities. Around both resorts novices will find nice gentle nursery areas where they can learn. Further out the beginner and intermediate terrain begins with the many wide slopes criss-crossing through the trees. And up at the Pic d'Ayre there are some very challenging red runs and a long black piste. The slopes in La Mongie are really varied and every level will find plenty to choose from, this is also where the snow parks and the most challenging off-piste are found. |
