The winter ski season in Barèges normally starts in November and runs until the middle of April. During these months you can expect to find great weather conditions in the resort and on the ski areas of the Domaine du Tourmalet. With an average snowfall of around 500cm a year and widespread artificial snow making machines you needn't worry about lack of snow spoiling your holiday in this vast ski domain. Unfortunately due to these levels of snowfall occasionally on the highest parts of the ski areas visibility can be poor, but thankfully a lot of the ski area around Barèges is below the tree-line which means there are always sheltered slopes available.
