From La Chapelle d'Abondance you can enjoy the perfect snow-covered slopes of the Portes du Soleil area. From the middle of November until the end of April the area receives an average snowfall of about 800cm, which turns the 400km2 of the Portes du Soleil into a huge winter playground. The season starts in December, once the slopes have the ideal covering, and runs until spring - and even in these warmer months you can still expect great snow on the pistes thanks to the ski area's fantastic artificial snow making system.
