Les Carroz d'Arache sits at 1,140m on an incredibly sunny plateau within the Grand Massif area which regularly receives excellent weather for winter sports. Within Mont Blanc's weather system, the local microclimate brings a lot of snow to the area. And although not all of the slopes in the Grand Massif are at high altitudes, the snow is preserved thanks to the mainly north facing ski areas. During periods of poor weather, these lower slopes are ideal as they're below the tree-line and provide sheltered areas to enjoy when higher altitudes are suffering from high winds or poor visibility. |
