Megève Ski Resort Information

The Savoie village of Megève is bursting with charm. Not only a fantastic ski resort, the partly medieval village has a great atmosphere which makes it a firm favourite with snow sports enthusiasts the world over. Centred around the medieval church in the most quaint town square possible, the shops, restaurants, and heritage of Megève are as big a draw as the extensive snow sports opportunities.
There are 325km of marked runs in Megève spread over four areas, Mont d'Arbois, Côte 2000, Rochebrune, and Jaillet. Each area has unique qualities and facilities: Mont d'Arbois links the valley together, Côte 2000 is north facing so has the best snow early in the season, Rochebrune has a huge variety of slopes and lots of woodland areas, and the highest area Jaillet is often where you'll find the quietest runs. Not only great for its varied ski areas, Megève is also a powder paradise for everyone. In this resort it isn't just expert skiers and boarders who get to experience soft fresh powder. After snowfalls a lot of the normal slopes are left ungroomed which allows regular skiers and snowboarders to enjoy the powdery surface without the dangers of off-piste riding.
Megève is also a freestyle paradise with two snowparks and a half-pipe. Great for beginners to start to string together their first jumps, and also excellent for pros, the Waidzai Snowpark is 500m long and has ten different feature styles, including pyramids, whoops, banked turns, small jumps, hips, and a boarder cross course.
It is of course possible to experience the stunning landscape around Megève without skis or boards. There are 50km of cleared walking routes across the area, and snowshoe trails to follow on the nearby glaciers of the Col du Géant and Mer de Glace. And in the air you can explore by helicopter or on hot air balloon trips, and the most adventurous can try paragliding or experience the thrill of free falling from 1,500m.
To recover from your mountain adventures Megève has plenty of facilities in town to restore your well being, including gyms, pools, spas, and saunas. And the après ski in town is legendary. There are great eateries and bars, along with three cinemas, bowling alleys, a casino, and four nightclubs, so you won't be stuck for activities once darkness falls.
