St Jean d'Aulps - La grande Terche with Snowrental

St Jean d'Aulps is a traditional French ski resort located at the foot of the Roc d'Enfer mountains. From this spectacular setting you can explore the 40km of marked slopes within the resort's ski area, La Grande Terche, and you can also use the free shuttle bus to access another eleven ski resorts within the Portes du Soleil. Thanks to St Jean d'Aulps position within this huge ski area you have 650km of downhill slopes to explore and loads of other winter activities to enjoy.
This unspoilt natural environment between Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva makes the perfect winter playground for all snow sports enthusiasts. The groomed slopes are varied in level and cover a huge amount of terrain. There are great gentle areas for novices to learn the basics, loads of mid-level slopes for intermediates to cruise, and the ungroomed, off-piste areas are home to some incredible powder where experts will find all the thrills and steep descents they want.
If you're looking for alternative activities the Montriond lake is a good place to start. The third largest lake in the region, it's perfect for ice diving, cross-country skiing, and is the starting point for some great snowshoe walks. In St Jean d'Aulps itself you can find some slightly unusual winter activities, like paintballing and the Indiana Adventure Park - where you can climb through the trees on bridges and ropes. And in the centre of the resort you can relax in the beauty salon or spa, before exploring the evening activities. For energetic types St Jean d'Aulps organises night sledging and skiing trips, as well as evening astronomy tours at the mountain observatory. Or of course you can spend your nights in the great restaurants and bars in the resort. The bars are pretty lively until around 11pm, but a short trip to Morzine opens up a much busier and later après ski scene.
