The slopes begin from the higher village of Lanslevillard, and this is where the ski schools meet. Throughout the ski area there are green and blue runs for beginners, including the world's longest green slope - L'Escargot at 10km long is the perfect run to practice the basics on. Both above and below the tree line intermediates will find a variety of terrain to enjoy, and although graded black, the Michele Jacot is a great run for competent intermediates to try if they have a head for heights. Most advanced skiers and snowboarders will find their thrills off-piste at Val Cenis. A good tip is the freeride areas either side of the Michele Jacot run which have some tree-skiing. Boarders and freeskiers have a choice of terrain parks at Val Cenis, with natural half-pipes, jumps, rails, and boardercross. |
