Snow Val d'Isere

The snowfall at Val d'Isère is exceptional. Its proximity to the Italian Alps means that while it benefits from the same weather system as the other resorts in the French Alps, it also receives snow-dumps from the Mediterranean low-pressures which keep the Italian Alps white. These conditions, combined with the resort's 300 snow guns give good snow cover until May, and with Val d'Isère's high altitude skiing back into the village is possible right until the end of the season. The off-piste skiing available further enhances the snow conditions by reducing the wear and tear of the snow on the pistes.
