Selva Val Gardena - Wolkenstein Gröden Ski Resort Information

One of the best ski resorts in the Dolomites, Selva Val Gardena- Wolkenstein Gröden is the highest resort in the Val Gardena Valley. It's a popular destination for all sorts of winter holiday, from first-timer skiers and family groups, to advanced snowboarders and world champion skiers when the Alpine Ski World Cup is hosted in the valley.
The popularity of the resort is easy to understand when you see just how much skiing and boarding is available in the area. Selva Val Gardena has 175km of slopes within its own ski area, you have access to 500km of interlinked runs in the Sella Group, and with a Dolomiti Superski pass you can explore the massive 1,200km of slopes across twelve valleys. A true paradise for winter sports enthusiasts the resort also has a fantastic 750m long snowpark, endless cross-country ski and snowshoe trails, loads of ice climbing opportunities, and a rich selection of ski schools. The schools organise a full programme of courses and events, like kids groups, carving lessons, cross-country classes, competitions, and guided ski trips. There are programmes for all ages and abilities, and they can really help make the most of your time in this spectacular area.
Classic winter past-times, like tobogganing, ice skating, and horse-drawn sleigh rides are available in Selva Val Gardena, as well as some less traditional activities, including bowling, indoor climbing, squash, paragliding, and heli-skiing!
The resort centre is a charming Italian village with lots of Tyrolean architecture and a nice mixture of Austrian and Italian cultures, along with the Ladino regional heritage. The ancient Latin-based language of Ladin is still spoken in the village and there are two thousand years of history to be discovered in the area. In the traditional restaurants you can try specialities of the Landio region, or choose from the wealth of other cuisines on the menus. And for après ski there are lots of bierkellers, pubs, and bars - and some nightclubs for late-night adventures.
