A fat lightweight!! Normally a contradiction but these new Fischer's have an Air Carbon chassis that makes them incredibly light but very strong,, a first and lifted straight from the aeronautical industry. They do ski well also, a medium flex is quite forgiving and there is huge float with 106 mm underfoot and the 26m turn, but I couldn't help having a longing for a little more excitement, a bit of je 'ai sais quoi? A little slimmer but more fun is the Seth Pistol and the Iron Maiden does the same job but with a little flair, AK Swallow tails are very subtle and interesting in that you can "smear" turns and this gives a little extra to the experience. For heli-skiing orbig powder days the Stix are very capable and do the job especially on the feet of advanced skiers breaking onto new territory with fat skis. For experts searching the unusual and seeking the purist powder experience the Mconkey from Volant has a reverse side-cut, wider in the middle that is supposed to be incredible in the very deepest Alaska has to offer.
