Pleasantly surprised after last years model, they seemed a little more tolerant to use but still maintain huge amounts of vitality throughout the turn and rock solid edge grip. On this latest generation of LAB slalom skis I found it much easier to remain centred over the middle of the ski without being thrown back or a feeling of being balanced over the heel. The 1st generation skis were fantastic but the shape was a little too over-sized at the front, so lacking the directness and acceleration of last years model, this new ‘‘07 ski has the balance plus the directness for a perfect ski for club to FIS level racers. There is also a change in the ZZ plate fitted to these skis this year, the underside of the plate is ground out to allow for a more natural flex and also improved steering of the ski, the plate feels like it allows the skis to be nimbler, quicker into the turn and also lighter. Available in two models that differ in shape, a 155 for women and the 165 for men, both skis adhere to FIS regulations.
