K2 Skis kahuna Ski Equipment Review
Ridiculous - but in a very positive way! Used them cat-skiing in Canada, a mix of fairly open glades and tighter trees. (I was sceptical about skiing trees on them but they are far more nimble than they have any right to be, mostly because you can slow 'em right down but stay manoeuverable.) My friend and I swapped skis a couple of times during the day and his Pocket Rockets felt like snow blades after the Kahunas. Whoever was on the K2's seemed to be sporting a massive grin though. They do crave acres of powder - they are so much fun in the open spaces you don't want to stop. Haven't had the chance to try them in sustained deep stuff but they should be incredible; they coped unbelievably well with some pockets of (quite heavy) fresh among the trees. The immense flotation rescued me a couple of times when I pointed them into what would - for most skis - have been impossible situations. Highly impractical as your only ski but in the right conditions they are an absolute blast - any reasonably advanced skier can have a lot of fun on these. - Paul
