I initially tried the volant genesis silver when the hire shop was running out of Salomon Screams. I saw its metallic design and thought it was either going to be very good or very pretentious. I was pleasantly surprised when it skied even better than it looked. The following trip I requested the same ski from a different shop. This shop only had the genesis gold in stock. It was also sharp and responsive, despite the fact that I was asking a carving ski to ski in deep powder.
