Beautifully constructed, the new Platinum’‘s look sexy and are absolutely superb. The finish to this top model is really exceptional. This privilege is costly, around £1000 or €1500 per pair but you can actually see, touch and feel the quality. Volant skis are not about aggressive racing but are more the high-speed GT cruisers. They are happiest on groomed runs and the modern sidecut is tailored and eases you at speed into clean medium to long carved turns- think Cayenne Turbo S. The Platinum also glides well on its high quality Electra Graphite base, the steel top sheet provides Tom Jones like smoothness and the carbon-fibre and Titanal sidewalls are solid and will provide lots of longevity as well as finishing the ski with a classy touch. If you imagine an AMG prepared Mercedes or bespoke Porsche they are sleek, sporty and refined, this is the nearest thing you’‘ll get in a ski package. Luxurious, costly, but a nice treat.
