Formigal Ski Resort Information
The Formigal ski resort is nestled in the Aragon region of the Spanish Pyrenees, and is an excellent resort for beginners and experts alike. Set in stunning powder-covered landscapes, your most difficult task while skiing or snowboarding in Formigal is not being distracted by all the spectacular scenery.
The largest resort of its kind in Spain, Formigal is purpose-built and has 135km of marked pistes connected by a modern high-capacity lift system. The ski area is spread over interconnecting valleys and has a fantastic variety of slopes for all levels of skiers and boarders. With huge investment in the past few years, and continuing development, the facilities at Formigal just keep getting better and better - the latest additions include a huge boardercross area and a snowpark. The snow in Formigal isn't just for regular daytime skiing and snowboarding, there's also a night skiing area, a cross-country ski centre, and snowshoe trails. And to explore the area at high-speed you can hire snow mobiles, snow bikes, and or take a dog sledding trip.
Back in the village you'll be pleased with the quality of the accommodation. All the hotels, apartments, and chalets are modern and comfortable. There's accommodation to suit all budgets, and recently some new four star hotels have brought the opportunity for luxury ski holidays to Formigal. There's plenty to do in the resort, with spas, saunas, and swimming pools, or for something different you can take one of the organised winery tours to try some of the local produce. In the restaurants and bars you'll find a friendly welcome awaits you, and on the weekends there's a lively après ski atmosphere.
From the UK you can fly to Huesca, and from there it's only a quick 90 minute transfer to Formigal - perfect for both short weekend trips or longer holidays.
