From its incredible position in southern Spain the Sierra Nevada ski resort enjoys Mediterranean levels of sunshine every year. But you needn't worry about the snow conditions being poor with these vast amounts of sunshine. The slopes are all above 2,100m in altitude which ensures the ideal climate for snow, and the resort has an advanced snow making system which allows them to guarantee you snow throughout the winter season. As the resort is so high, between 2,100m and 3,300m, the ski areas are above the tree-line and have fantastic views out across the landscape but are also exposed to the elements. So in case of poor weather, suitable clothing is suggested, and to protect you from the sun a high factor sun screen is also advised. |
