Snow Gstaad

The landscape of Gstaad is perfect for snow sports as there are high altitude mountainsides which provide varied terrain and the area receives loads of snow, around 450cm falls on the region every year. Also a lot of the ski areas are on grassy meadows which mean they need very little snow on them to have great skiing and snowboarding surfaces - this is good early and late in the season when snow levels are naturally lower. Extra guarantees of snow covered slopes come from the extensive artificial snow making system which covers 60% of the runs and the glacial ski area available from Gstaad.
