Sitting on a sunny plateau, the resort of Verbier is sure to make you smile. Its sheltered position nestled in the Southern Swiss Alps makes it the ideal winter sun-trap - whether on the slopes or on a terrace in the village you're sure to catch some rays.
There are slopes facing all directions so you can follow the sun round all day or, if you prefer, head over the cooler shadier side. On the occasional bad weather day the slopes around the Savoleyres area are often clearer and provide some shelter with their tree-lined descents.
